Topsoil-water-alginate mixture

Rapid re-vegetation is always required for bank protections established above water. On the one hand, this requirement is fulfilled by planting the range between low and high water levels with vegetation cultures consisting of e.g. rush - iris - calamus - reed - sedge, and on the other, by producing a continuous capillary fringe between the underlying soil body and the upper vegetation of the bank protection.

A topsoil-water-alginate mixture is agitated in a high-speed compulsory mixer until it has reached a flowing consistency, and is then filled into the voids of the bank protection.

Application period: During the growth period

Dosage instructions:

The produced mixture must contain ca. 1.5 t of topsoil per m³. To accelerate growth and strengthen the plants, alginate per 1 m³ of mixture and 15 kg Bio-Algihum®-Bodengranulat plus are added to the suspension.

The resulting mixture must be free-flowing to be able to fill the voids in the existing bank protection over the entire thickness of 60 cm. This requires ca. 250 l of topsoil-water-alginate mixture per 1 m² of bank protection surface.

For a total thickness of 70-100 cm, ca. 275-350 l of topsoil-water-alginate mixture must be filled per 1 m².

Application rate

The mixture must contain ca. 1.5 t of topsoil per m³.

Hydroseeding or wet

Hydroseeding or wet is a mechanical re-vegetation method for extreme sites that cannot be re-vegetated using other techniques.

Application period: During the growth period

With this method, the seed, fertiliser, Bio-Algihum® products as well as other components are mixed in a special vehicle, the hydroseeder, to produce an aqueous, homogeneous suspension that is then sprayed onto the surfaces to be re-vegetated using a high-pressure cannon.
